On the 29th of January 2026 we hosted the first 6G-REFERENCE webinar, a session co-organised with the FirstTo6G project, to speak about “Complementary Microelectronics Hardware Concepts” for one and a half hours. The webinar was a success, attended by a total of 61 participants who stayed until the end for the panel discussion.
6G-REFERENCE and FirstTo6G Webinar Agenda and Speakers
This webinar brought together leading researchers and innovators to explore how complementary hardware approaches can accelerate the development of future 6G systems. The online event highlighted the goals and early achievements of both Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) projects, with a particular focus on fully wireless radio units for distributed MIMO, advanced time-modulated array techniques, and 6G-enabling data converters. The programme concluded with an interactive panel discussion examining synergies between the two projects and opportunities for broader collaboration across the SNS JU ecosystem with questions and interactions from the participants. In case you couldn’t attend it, have a look at the agenda before watching the recording below:- 11:00-11:10h: Welcome, Agenda Overview and Webinar Objectives – Renato Negra, RWTH, Moderator (FirstTo6G).
