CTTC Presents 6G-REFERENCE in a Seminar at the Henry Royce Institute of Imperial College London

On Friday, 13 March 2026, the 6G-REFERENCE coordinator, Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), offered a seminar at the Henry Royce Institute, hosted at the White City Campus of the Imperial College London (United Kingdom), in a session hosted by Dr. Peter Petrov, Principal Research Scientist at the Department of Materials and a Royce Technology Platform Lead for Diverse thin film device materials (Henry Royce Institute).

The 6G-REFERENCE Wireless Sensor Designs

The internal seminar, held from 14:00h to 15:30h, brought together 17 attendees from Imperial College and the Royce Institute. It formed part of an ongoing measurement campaign being conducted at the facilities, focused on characterising wireless sensor designs developed within the 6G-REFERENCE project.

The talk, delivered by the CTTC innovators Ignacio Llamas, Senior Researcher and 6G-REFERENCE coordinator, and Zabdiel Brito-Brito, Researcher, introduced the vision and objectives of 6G-REFERENCE, funded under the Horizon Europe Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS-JU). The presentation highlighted the project’s approach to joint communications and sensing hardware, providing an overview of key advances in integrated circuit design and antenna technologies achieved so far since the kick-off of the project in January 2024.

The session also served as an opportunity to engage with researchers at Imperial College London, fostering discussion around experimental methodologies and future collaboration opportunities in the field of next-generation wireless systems and 6G connectivity.
