The 6G-REFERENCE Partners Meet in Person for the Second time in Zurich to Review the Project Status

The 6G-REFERENCE consortium met for two days in Zurich (Switzerland) on the 5th and 6th of November 2024 in the Second 6G-REFERENCE Face-to-Face Meeting, hosted by our partner ETH Zürich, led by Hua Wang, Full Professor and Principal Investigator, to review the project status, about to complete its first year, and to plan the next steps for the second year.

After a coffee welcome session, the agenda of the meeting in the morning on the 5th focused on discussing the progress of the Communication, Sensing and Synchronization Working Groups, already started in the First General Assembly and Face-to-face Kick-off Meeting in Castelldefels (Spain) last April in our coordinator’s facilities, Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC).

In the afternoon, the partners spoke about other technical and research topics of the 6G-REFERENCE project, such as the antenna array and full-duplex antenna array, among many others.

On the 6th, each Work Package leader presented the activities and achievements of their work, including the status of the deliverables. Last, but not least, the session was closed with a brainstorming on the impact, exploitation and standardization of  6G-REFERENCE.

6G-REFERENCE Collaboration with SNS JU: Hardware Technologies Working Group

Regarding our collaboration with the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), we will join the Hardware Technologies Working Group, since we are one of the SNS JU projects boosting 6G research in Europe, and were presented for the first time by our coordinator Ignacio Llamas at the SNS JU and 6G-IA Webinar to Showcase the Call 2 Projects in March 2024.

Our third in-person meeting to gather the 6G-REFERENCE partners will be celebrated in April 2025 in Enschede (The Netherlands), home of our organizing partner University of Twente.
